Senator John Curtis, who represents Utah’s 3rd district in the U.S. Congress, recently shared several statements on his Twitter account addressing space exploration, law enforcement appreciation, and congressional accountability.
On May 13, 2026, Curtis commented on the recent Artemis II mission, stating: “The successful Artemis II mission testifies to the courage, innovation, and leadership that define the American spirit. Honored to meet with the Artemis II crew and discuss the next chapter of American spaceflight and discovery.”
Later that day during National Police Week, he honored law enforcement officers: “During National Police Week, we honor the men and women in law enforcement who protect our families and communities each day. We also remember the brave officers who gave their lives in the line of duty—including Sergeant Lee Sorensen and Officer Eric Estrada from Tremonton—and”
On May 14, 2026, Curtis addressed government accountability by supporting a resolution related to congressional pay during government shutdowns: “Members of Congress shouldn’t get paid if we can’t fulfill our most basic duties to keep the government open. Proud to vote for this resolution to withhold senators’ pay during a government shutdown.”
Curtis has served as a member of Congress since replacing Jason Chaffetz in 2017. Born in Salt Lake City in 1960 and currently residing in Provo, Curtis graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1985.
