Senator John Curtis, who represents Utah’s 3rd district in the U.S. Congress, shared a series of updates on his social media account in late January 2026, addressing issues ranging from land management decisions to law enforcement training.
On January 22, Curtis commented on a recent Bureau of Land Management (BLM) decision affecting Washington County. He stated, “Washington County has waited long enough. Today’s BLM decision provides the certainty communities need to move forward, honors the intent Congress set more than a decade ago, and delivers a balanced solution that protects habitat while addressing real transportation needs.”
Two days later, on January 23, Curtis posted from an undisclosed location with a brief message: “Highs and lows coming from a special location”
On January 25, he reflected on his background in law enforcement training and its relevance to recent events: “With more than a decade of experience training law enforcement officers in the safe and responsible use of firearms, I know firsthand how tragic these situations are and how far the impact reaches. From families and first responders to the broader community and the officer”
Curtis has represented Utah’s 3rd District since 2017 after succeeding Jason Chaffetz. Born in Salt Lake City in 1960, Curtis is now 62 years old and resides in Provo. He graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1985.
