Senator John Curtis, who represents Utah’s 3rd district in the U.S. Congress, recently addressed constituents and national issues through a series of posts on his social media account.
On November 7, 2025, Curtis announced an online event for his constituents: “I am hosting a virtual townhall today at noon MT to discuss your most pressing questions. To participate, submit your email to the link in my bio. We are sending signup information via our newsletter.” The post provided details on how residents could engage with their representative and participate in the discussion.
Later that day, Curtis commented on ongoing political events by posting about the government shutdown: “Highs and lows on day 38 of the government shutdown.” This brief message marked another day in what has become one of the longer government shutdowns in recent history.
On November 10, 2025, Curtis updated followers regarding legislative progress: “Tonight’s vote in the Senate paves the way to reopen the government and end the shutdown that has wasted hundreds of billions of dollars and unfairly impacted millions of Americans. Utahns expect much more from the federal government. We’ve budgeted properly only four times”
Curtis has served as a member of Congress since 2017 after replacing Jason Chaffetz. He was born in Salt Lake City in 1960 and currently resides in Provo. Curtis graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1985.
The recent posts reflect ongoing concerns about fiscal management at the federal level and highlight efforts by lawmakers such as Curtis to engage directly with their constituents during significant national events.
