Senator John Curtis, who has represented Utah’s 3rd district in the U.S. Congress since 2017, addressed concerns about national economic and security issues in a series of posts on March 20, 2026.
In one post, Curtis highlighted the rising national debt: “The national debt has crossed $39 trillion and continues to rise by the second. Washington’s spending problem is putting our economic stability in jeopardy, affecting our children and grandchildren the most. The Fiscal Commission Act will bring Republicans and Democrats together” (March 20, 2026).
Later that day, he drew attention to the impact of a Department of Homeland Security shutdown on federal employees: “Nearly 260,000 employees, including airport security workers, have not been paid for over a month. This DHS shutdown is completely unacceptable—it’s worsening airport wait times and putting disaster response efforts and other important security functions at risk. Using public” (March 20, 2026).
Curtis also posted a brief message titled “Highs and Lows ” without further elaboration: “Highs and Lows https://t.co/wIyBax2LIk” (March 20, 2026).
Curtis was born in Salt Lake City in 1960 and currently resides in Provo. He graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1985.
