Senator John Curtis, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Utah’s 3rd district since 2017, recently shared updates on social media regarding events and meetings across Utah.

On August 18, Curtis addressed a tragedy involving law enforcement officers in Tremonton. He wrote, “Heartbroken by the tragic loss of two law enforcement officers in Tremonton last night. My prayers are with their families, the wounded deputy, and all who serve to keep us safe.”

Later that day, Curtis highlighted his plans to visit rural communities in Utah. In a post dated August 18, he stated, “It’s a beautiful week to be in Utah and I’m headed to Sanpete and Sevier counties to meet with local leaders, businesses, and community members. I’m looking forward to meaningful conversations about energy, economic development, and the unique opportunities facing rural Utah.”

On August 19, Curtis discussed national security concerns following a visit to Strider Technologies. He posted: “Had a great morning at Strider Technologies, answering questions from employees and their leadership about the growing threats from China. We talked about everything from stolen intellectual property to strategic influence campaigns, and the need for America to be unified and”

Curtis has represented Utah’s 3rd District since replacing Jason Chaffetz in 2017. Born in Salt Lake City in 1960 and currently residing in Provo at age 62, he is an alumnus of Brigham Young University with a Bachelor of Science degree earned in 1985.
