Senator John Curtis, a U.S. Senator representing Utah’s 3rd district since 2017, shared updates on social media regarding his recent activities in Congress and outreach to constituents.
On November 4, 2025, Curtis posted about Veterans Day observances in Utah: “Utahns do this every year to honor our Veterans. God bless all of those who have served our great nation.”
Later that day, he addressed the ongoing government shutdown and his efforts to end it: “I just voted for the fourteenth time on the Senate floor to reopen the government. It once again failed because we need five more of my democratic colleagues to join in support. This is now the longest shutdown in our nations history. Every day we remain shut down, we add” (November 4, 2025).
Curtis also announced an upcoming virtual town hall scheduled for November 7th: “This Friday, November 7th, I will be hosting a virtual townhall. To participate, submit your email to the link in my bio. We will be sending signup information via our newsletter. To submit questions, please email me at experience@curtis.senate.gov by 9:00 AM MT on November 7th.” (November 4, 2025).
Senator Curtis has represented Utah’s 3rd district since replacing Jason Chaffetz in Congress in 2017 and resides in Provo after being born in Salt Lake City in 1960. He graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1985.
