Senator John Curtis, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Utah’s 3rd district since 2017, announced on November 11, 2025, several significant funding allocations for military infrastructure in Utah through posts on his official Twitter account.
In one post, Curtis stated: “• $22 million for Phase 1 of Hill Air Force Base’s F-35 maintenance expansion.” (November 11, 2025). He followed this with another announcement: “• $123 million for a new maintenance complex supporting Hill’s training aircraft.” (November 11, 2025). Additionally, he noted further investment at a different location: “• $15 million for a fuel cell hangar at Roland R. Wright Air National Guard Base (Salt Lake City Airport).” (November 11, 2025).
Hill Air Force Base is a key military installation in northern Utah and has long played an important role in supporting the United States Air Force’s operations and readiness. The base hosts both operational and training missions and is home to various aircraft including the F-35 fighter jet.
Senator Curtis was born in Salt Lake City in 1960 and currently resides in Provo. He graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1985. Curtis succeeded Jason Chaffetz as representative of Utah’s 3rd congressional district.
