Senator John Curtis, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Utah’s 3rd district since 2017, recently used his social media platform to address legislative efforts on artificial intelligence and ongoing international conflict.

On April 29, 2026, Curtis stated: “Parents deserve both clarity and control over how their kids interact with AI chatbots. Our bipartisan bill will provide guardrails that prioritize kids’ safety, limit manipulative design, and help ensure that parents—not algorithms—hold the reins.” The following day, he encouraged followers to access further information about the legislation by posting: “Learn more about our bill here:”

In addition to domestic policy issues, Curtis also commented on foreign affairs as the war in Iran approached its 60-day mark. On April 30, 2026, he wrote: “My thoughts as we approach the 60-day mark of the war in Iran:”

Curtis has represented Utah’s 3rd District since replacing Jason Chaffetz in 2017. Born in Salt Lake City in 1960 and currently residing in Provo at age 62, Curtis earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Brigham Young University in 1985.
