Senator John Curtis, who represents Utah’s 3rd district in the U.S. Congress, has recently addressed several legislative and political issues through his official Twitter account.
On March 26, 2026, Curtis announced a bipartisan initiative focused on technology regulation. He stated, “My bipartisan Algorithm Accountability Act with @SenMarkKelly will hold tech companies accountable and protect users from harmful algorithms: https://t.co/TDWdOvEfgK”.
Later that day, Curtis commented on the ongoing Department of Homeland Security (DHS) shutdown. In his post dated March 26, 2026, he wrote, “Government shutdowns never achieve their desired legislative outcomes. This ongoing @DHSgov shutdown is unacceptable. Using public servants in critical roles—including TSA officers—as political pawns is not how we should operate as a Congress. We need to fund DHS. https://t.co/ABy7mVYdeG”.
In another tweet posted on March 26, 2026, Curtis addressed ethical standards for public officials regarding sensitive information. He said, “Public officials entrusted with sensitive information must not be able to use it for personal profit. Our bipartisan bill prohibits federally elected officials and government employees from using insider information to bet on prediction market contracts.”
Curtis has served in Congress since replacing Jason Chaffetz in 2017 and continues to represent Utah’s 3rd District. Born in Salt Lake City in 1960 and currently residing in Provo at age 62, Curtis graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1985.
