Senator John Curtis, who represents Utah’s 3rd district in the U.S. Congress, recently used his social media platform to highlight Utah’s economic achievements and discuss consumer protection efforts related to the timeshare industry.
On April 15, 2026, Curtis posted: “For 19 years, Utah has ranked No. 1 for economic outlook, and that’s by no accident! The pioneer spirit runs deep here, and this recognition reflects the hardworking Utahns who are expanding opportunity, supporting free enterprise, and building strong homes and families.”
The following day, on April 16, Curtis addressed consumer issues within the timeshare sector. He wrote: “Learn more about my legislation to protect consumers from confusing contracts, hidden fees, and unclear exit options in the timeshare industry:” In a separate post at the same time he added: “I regularly hear from constituents who have been misled or pressured by predatory sales tactics in the timeshare industry. Consumers deserve transparency and fairness, not high-pressure scenarios that leave them financially vulnerable.”
Curtis has served as a member of Congress since 2017 after replacing Jason Chaffetz. Born in Salt Lake City in 1960 and currently residing in Provo at age 62, Curtis graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1985.
