Senator John Curtis, who has represented Utah’s 3rd district in the U.S. Congress since 2017 after replacing Jason Chaffetz, recently posted a series of messages on social media addressing national security, foreign relations, and religious observance.
On April 3, 2026, Curtis expressed support for presidential actions regarding national security in the Middle East but highlighted his reservations about further funding. He wrote, “I stand by the President’s actions taken in defense of our national security interests in the Middle East. But we must be clear-eyed about history and the Constitution. While I support maintaining our readiness and replenishing stockpiles, I cannot support funding for further”.
Later that day, Curtis commented on his experience during a recent Foreign Relations Committee visit to Taiwan. On April 3, 2026, he stated: “My highs and lows from an important Foreign Relations Committee visit to Taiwan https://t.co/q474SoygZt”.
On April 5, 2026, Curtis marked Easter Sunday with a message reflecting on its significance. He posted: “He is risen—let the whole wide earth rejoice! This Easter Sunday, we reflect on and celebrate the Savior’s resurrection and the hope it brings to the world. Wishing you and your family a happy Easter!”
Curtis was born in Salt Lake City in 1960 and currently resides in Provo at age 62. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Brigham Young University in 1985.
