Cost of college went up for all students at Snow College

In-state tuition and fees rose 1.4 percent for 2018-19 at Snow College, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Utah residents paid $3,742 to attend the four-year public institution this year – $50 more than the $3,692 charged for 2017-18.

Non-residents paid 235.7 percent more than residents this year, or $12,562. Their price tag grew 1.5 percent from $12,382 in 2017-18.

About 88 percent of the school's undergraduate population are Utah residents. About 7 percent are residents of other states and 5 percent are citizens of other countries.

Data shows 89 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 1,300 students received grants or scholarships totaling $5.1 million and 959 students took out student loans totaling more than $1.7 million.

Including all undergraduates (5,514), 2,696 students used grants or scholarships totaling $12.9 million, and 2,229 students took out $4 million in federal student loans.
