Richfield City is accepting applications for a full-time Recreation Program Coordinator. Qualifications and requirements include a bachelor’s degree in Recreation or related fields (Alternatively, a high school diploma (or equivalent) and 1-3 years of applicable recreation experience is also acceptable) with preference given to those with a demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the position.

Possession of a valid driver’s license, current CPR certification, or the willingness to obtain it. Excellent customer service skills, the ability to use a computer to manage work and create hard copies and electronic promotional materials, the ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work. Selection will be based on a thorough knowledge of youth and adult sports programs, equipment, and other recreation programs. Knowledge of basic management practices and procedures related to recreation management is required. Ability to organize recreational leagues, establish team rosters, and schedule games, tournaments, and other play activities; to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, various age groups, other organizations, and the public; communicate effectively, verbally and in writing. 

The lifting of some heavy objects and the preparation of playing fields are also part of the job. This position will require evening and Saturday work. Flexible hours based on department needs.
