Some participants in the city of Aurora’s housing rehabilitation programs have reported receiving letters with deceiving and urgent language such as “Final Notice” or “Immediate Response Requested” regarding expiring home warranties related to their rehab work. The letter appears to be from the “Home Warranty Dept” and identifies the “Lender Info” as “CITY OF AURORA REHAB PROGRAM.” These notices are not from the city, and should be treated as unrequested and unnecessary solicitations. There is no action required by the homeowner.
