Rep. John Curtis discusses Pearl Harbor remembrance and Syrian regime change

Rep. John Curtis, who has been serving in the U.S. Congress representing Utah’s 3rd district since 2017, shared his thoughts on two significant topics through social media posts dated December 7 and December 8, 2024.

On December 7, Rep. Curtis commemorated Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day with a message highlighting the importance of remembering the bravery and legacy of those involved in World War II. He emphasized the need for future generations to understand this history. "On #PearlHarborRemembranceDay, we ensure that future generations understand the valor and legacy of those who perished and those who fought throughout the war."

The following day, December 8, he addressed geopolitical issues concerning Syria. He described Bashar al-Assad as "one of the most brutal dictators of the 21st century" and expressed optimism about Syria's future following Assad's regime's downfall. Curtis noted that while challenges remain, there is hope for a peaceful and prosperous Syria free from Russian and Iranian influence. "Assad was one of the most brutal dictators of the 21st century. While Syria’s path forward will be challenging, the fall of his regime offers hope for a peaceful and prosperous future, free from the oppressive influence of Russia and Iran."
