Rep. John Curtis, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Utah’s 3rd district, shared a series of statements on social media regarding significant national and local issues. Curtis has been a member of Congress since 2017, succeeding Jason Chaffetz. Born in Salt Lake City in 1960, he resides in Provo and is an alumnus of Brigham Young University.
On February 20, 2025, Curtis expressed his views on the nomination of Kash Patel for FBI Director. He stated: "Americans expect to see change within the FBI, and I believe Kash Patel can deliver that. My primary concern with his nomination was ensuring he would approach the role without political bias—an essential quality for any FBI Director."
Later that day, Curtis addressed a tragic development involving the Bibas family: "For 16 months, the Bibas family held onto hope that Shiri and her two boys, Kfir and Ariel, were alive. Today, that hope has been shattered. May their memories be a blessing." He acknowledged their story as one filled with heartbreak since October 7, 2023.
In another post on February 20th, Curtis highlighted Utah's management under Governor Cox: "Utah is the best-managed state in the nation, thanks in part to strong leaders like @GovCox." He mentioned discussions with Governor Cox and First Lady about priorities such as combating federal overreach on public lands and addressing water scarcity.
