Rep. John Curtis, a U.S. Congressman representing Utah's 3rd district since 2017, recently shared his thoughts on government funding and President Trump's administration through a series of tweets. Curtis, who succeeded Jason Chaffetz in Congress, often speaks about fiscal responsibility and national policy matters.

On March 23, 2025, Rep. Curtis addressed the recent government funding crisis via Twitter. He questioned whether the crisis was truly resolved and emphasized that attention has been diverted from what he considers the root issue: "our broken budgeting process." Curtis suggested that with leadership, there might be potential for reforming Washington's spending habits. "Was a government funding crisis averted last week? Sure, but now we’ve once again diverted attention from the root of the problem—our broken budgeting process. With a little leadership, we might be closer than we think to successfully reforming how Washington spends money."

In another tweet posted on the same day, Curtis referenced additional information available in Deseret News without elaborating further in his message. "More in @Deseret https://t.co/Gscg39eDwH"

Later that day, Curtis tweeted about public expectations for President Trump’s success concerning border security, economic conditions, and international peace. He expressed support for Trump's initiatives while also maintaining his stance to voice differences respectfully when necessary. "Utahns want President Trump to be wildly successful—they want border security, better economic conditions, and peace abroad. I’m wind at the President’s back when he delivers on those promises. But I’ll respectfully speak up when we see things differently."
